Blink(pi) for PRTG is a great thing to visualize your PRTG States with a great blink(1) USB Dongle Using the PRTG-HTTP-API: https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/application_programming_interface_api_definition

PRTG from Paessler (http://www.paessler.com) is a great Monitoring Software for Windows. It can monitor hundreds of things, including common things like ICMP, SNMP, HTTP, SSH, PowerShell and so on...

Information:

Now comes in Backend Version 2. I've added so much new stuff to make this a really good system to work with.

Tested for over one year. Added a few bugfixes during this time to make it even better.

Progress:

Running very stable!

Dependencies:

  • root or sudo previlegies, start.sh needs to be run with root permissions (this is for the blink(1) device, it needs root power for the USB communication)
  • apcalc for calc
  • PHP enabled Webserver linked to your git clone in www/
  • screen

Known Issues:

  • You may apply things from the Internet for using the Pi 24/7 (minimize Disk I/O and so on)
  • writing results to Filesystem is very bad for SD-Cards

You may do this:

  • add tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid,size=100M 0 0 to your /etc/fstab and than do sudo mount -a
